Some of them! This year we planted part of our variety garden to bloom during the first three weeks of September for you to enjoy when visiting the corn maze. We do ask that if you have been exposed to Covid that you wear a mask when interacting with employees or other customers. Wearing a mask at the farm is up to you and your comfort level. While we don’t have lunch items available here, we do have some snacks and treats available for purchase in our farm stand if you choose to allow the kids to buy items.ĭo I have to wear a mask while at the farm? We provide a large picnic area outside of the corn maze with many picnic tables if you would like to bring a snack, or even stay for lunch. Some activities may be unavailable depending on the season. ![]() If any of these activities interest you, please discuss them with our farm staff when you make your field trip reservation. If you would like to do activities more closely related to the farm, we give presentations to groups in our barn and farm stand about the horses, sheep, & chickens put together dried corn cobs so the students can try shelling corn as they would have had to do before mechanized equipment or put together pumpkins so the students can paint on them (we suggest bringing permanent markers rather than paint – there is an additional cost for the pumpkins). We have had school groups bring giant parachutes, plan a scavenger hunt, and have story time. In the field adjacent to the corn maze, you are welcome to plan other activities or games that follow your school curriculum. We hope that some of the answers are ones that you know, while others make you think “well, I never knew that”. Each year, a series of questions are placed into the mailboxes scattered throughout the maze to help you navigate the winding paths. Our themes have encompassed the birds of the air, to the mammals & amphibians that roam our fields and woods, to plant life that you can find all over NH. Starting with the corn maze, there are mailboxes that contain trivia questions about this year’s theme. As an eighth-grade educator for 27 years, Carol has helped turn this working farm into a place where there are learning opportunities for all age groups. Our farm and corn maze are set up in a manner that encourages team building, cooperative learning, and a rewarding educational experience. We look forward to sharing our farm with you this fall!Ĭoppal House Farm is a real working farm where students will see all aspects of farm life, crops, and animals. Peruse the farm's own pumpkins, fall decoratives, winter squashes, meats, eggs, and cooking oil, as well as other wonderful locally sourced products including honey and maple syrup. Once you complete your journey you will be welcomed back at the barn farm stand to celebrate your success. We ask that those that visit our maze respect our crop by not picking the ears on your way through, and by not cutting through the stalks of corn, which can knock the ears of corn to the ground. For that reason, it is imperative that each ear remains on the stalk in order for us to harvest it. ![]() Our corn is not of the human eating variety, instead it is a feed corn used for the nourishment of our sheep flock and our horses. Depending on the weather, the corn maze has been planted by our Belgian Draft Horses and it is almost always harvested by them. Our crops are rotated around the farm for the health of the soil, so our corn maze is a different experience every year. Those that welcome more of a challenge are free to enter the corn maze through the exit where the trivia will provide no help at all. ![]() Our trivia is geared toward a wide range of ages from the young to the young at heart. ![]() Answer the question incorrectly and you will be sent the longer way or the wrong way entirely. Answer the question correctly and you will be directed to take the correct or shorter path. Each sign contains a trivia question about the corn maze theme. As you enter our maze you become surrounded by 8-9 ft stalks of corn, but do not fear! As you progress through your journey you will find signs to help guide your path. Welcome to our corn maze! Every year our corn maze theme encompasses something that you would see in your own back yard, be it animal, plant, reptile, amphibian, or avian.
